About A. Perez
My name is Anthony Perez & I am a growing content creator & cultural globetrotter.
Iʻve explored the Greek Islands, motorbiked the entirety of New Zealand, danced hula in Hawai’i, and Iʻve sailed the South Pacific seas from Tonga to Fiji. And taken endless solo excursions far and wide, from Romania to Cuba to tiny Nauru island. (…and still going!)
Iʻm a 34 year old hispanic originally from New York but have also lived in both Florida and South Carolina. After years of pure hard work and saving in my 20s, it was time to live A LIFE OF TRAVEL.
In February of 2016, I left behind an ordinary 9-5 life and set off on a new chapter of my life to spend six month in Eastern Europe. I would eventually find my way across the USA to Hawai’i, New Zealand & the South Pacific Islands. 38 Countries and then some, and still going!

To this day I fall in love with the world map having had curiosity about the world since I was very young. And after years of taking small trips to places like Jamaica, Cuba, Hungary & even US trips to Wyoming, I realized I had a growing talent in my career of Digital media. That was becoming a Youtube vlogger & storytelling. But most importantly, doing what I love to do when the camera is off, and that is writing about my travel experiences. So A Perez Voyages blog was born.
My New Zealand and Pacific Islands travels concluded in 2019 and found myself settling in Hawai’i for a couple of years before my next Pacific island jaunt – then COVID hit and changed EVERYTHING.
It hasn’t been the easiest several years in Hawai’i with COVID. But this setback allowed for deeper cultural immersion in Hawai’i that has really redefined my content creation in a new way. This meant, that I wanted to take my content creation more seriously and do this full time.
Not only did I invest in better camera gear and endless hours learning how to be more of a cinematic storyteller but I also wanted to write more in my blog and do this full time too.
My Goals
To do all of this full time, not for the money. But so I can keep sharing quality content on what matters out there in the world. Not so much about the places we see, but the people to meet, the cultures to immerse in, the food to try, the music to dance to, & the languages to learn to see just how different but similar we all are as a people.
My Travel Values & Philosophy
OVERTOURISM is a real problem: With the rise of social media, itʻs quite obvious that crowds have grown substantially. This is why I believe in giving the lesser known places a chance and only share with the means to bring the right tourism. Going off the beaten path, truly no experience like it.
RESPECT: This is of the biggest importance to me! My belief is, respect someone else’s home as you’d want yours to be. Iʻm in Hawai’i and respect it by learning the language and learning from Native Hawaiians. This is not my playground for clout but very much a place where people live and expect outsiders to be respectful. Even if I visit Denver, I will not emanate a New York attitude there. Observe, listen, learn, respect. To me that is a beautiful cycle of travel.
EMBRACING THE UNKNOWN
Even as a nomad, I still get nervous and even intimidated by the new and unknown. But the unknown is what builds us into better versions of ourselves. To get out of our own heads and judgements of ourselves and the world that quickly proves us wrong is the right way. This is one of the most beautiful things I love about travel.

ITʻS NOT ALL ABOUT ʻYOUʻ
In a world of Tiktok, Instagram, and Reels, I feel (and not to sound too harsh) that so many people have lost touch of reality because of what is trending and this rat race of outdoing other content creators. This is also very much what I’ve noticed in travel, that people go off to see beautiful places, people, and cultures for the “clout”. I donʻt believe in this and as much as I love bringing my camera and documenting, there is a difference in doing this for yourself vs doing it for education. And as easy as it is to assume I am always recording, there is sometimes a time and place where the camera is off and to be present.
While I am not here to tell anyone how they should travel, I will say this. Itʻs not about always about YOU. Itʻs about what you can give to the world. What kind of legacy you can leave behind for the world to learn and better yet, what you can bring to communities and people you encounter. Whether its an offering of a gift, to your very presence as a human being.
What I Can Bring to this Blog
A Perez Voyages is a Youtube channel and blog to share my travel experiences through my lens and my mind. I may not be your step by step guide to a particular destination. However, I can paint the beautiful picture in storytelling and visuals so that one day, you can experience it all as well. I also embrace community and hope that my content can bring together like minded curious people of world travel.
Like anything, travel has itʻs challenges and itʻs not all perfect. But itʻs all part of the journey and I am glad to have you join me on that journey.
So to conclude, Iʻm so happy youʻre here. Your presence on my blog supports what I do in every way!
Thank you
Anthony Perez
