The flag of American Samoa consists of a dark blue field with a slightly off-center red-edged white triangle pointing towards the hoist. Inside the triangle are a bald eagle, a symbol of the United States, in flight, grasping a war club and a fly-switch (two traditional Samoan symbols of wisdom). The colors represent the traditional Samoan concepts of freedom (white), bravery (red), and loyalty (blue)
