I present to you your newly crowned Miss American Samoa! But you see, my meeting and connection with Angel was beyond the pageant!
Three weeks ago Angel and I sat down for lunch initially on the light concept of doing collaborative work. But we sat down over coffee just sharing our life stories and our deep intentions for the islands, more particularly for American Samoa, its people and its youth. With this commonality aligned with our spiritual callings to be in the islands (in her case home). It was apparent that our paths aligned at the right time to elevate each others platform and voices.
I said, “collaboration sounds and seems to harsh for what this is!”
She said, “FELLOWSHIP”.
I said, “that’s perfect!”
Fellowship is a spiritual bond that brings likeminded ness on a deeper level that helps to elevate one another. It’s not romantic. It’s not materialistic. But true belief into one another’s visions, dreams, and ambitions. And you all know I have big visions. But I see all of that for Angel.
And for someone who once had big dreams and visions, I easily saw that with her heart and spirit. We had a beautiful deep and even emotional 35 minute interview that fits well into my intended American Samoa project and into the One Ocean One People series.
Her journey with the pageant is just as much part of that narrative as a “Pacific Story”. The pageant is like she says, and amplifier of her life’s work and vision and this video was a major contribution into showing who she truly is and all she has in store for the islands, Whether she won or not!
But because she won, she has all the resources and platform to fulfil that vision on steroids. And this voyager is incredibly blessed to be a part of it all.
She is prepping for a trip to Hawai’i for Festpac as the new miss American Samoa and can’t wait to see her shine for an event as big as that. And when things settle, I can’t wait to see how her story continues to unfold into the greater story I’m gathering for this American Samoa project!
Congratulations on your win Angel!!!
