Having gone into an Instagram story spree amd reflections of the insanely complicated journey of this film really brought me back to some hardship and pain. Few months where I had a headache and a little anxiety. That’s context of just how much this project wrecked me.
But one month later, it’s doing incredibly well with 45k + eyes having seen it once or multiple times. Once called a project now a documentary / film thanks to the many who’ve blessed it as such.
While I’ve slowly moved on in the month wholey engaged in American Samoa due to the mental and spiritual trauma , it was nice coming back to it today posting the Lahui segment on social media. Bringing people back to the energy this all had post premier.
what now though? Well firstly I’m considering writing PBS hawaii to see if this could be aired on their platform. And what that financial deal could look like , not sure.
But these big projects are not the end of them. They are umbrella projects that have so much more depth into them to expand on. From niihau language, more sovereignty, to kapa, which ironically as of today I’ve interviewed a practitioner in American Samoa.
With a borrowed laptop while mine is in transit, I’m able to really dice things up and reflect on old to new. After all, One Ocean, One People is a wholly interconnected web of pacific projects! ☺️
Thank you guys for all the support on this tough journey 🥹
