Exactly 5 years ago, I was in one of my favorite places of my voyages. And at the time I went , it was one of my top anticipated destinations. Not because of social media or YesTheory’s viral video. Hell, YesTheory hadn’t even been there yet.
I went because I was curious to explore a Polynesian culture across 9 atolls and islands. And when I went, I fell in love beyond my expectations. The friendly faces, the sounds of the fatele, the beautiful hues of culture across Funafuti.
But that’s not to exclude the common topic of climate change and the eventual fate of tuvalu alongside many low lying atolls in the pacific. The firsthand reality is heartbreaking!
Due to financial limitations on my budget at the time, I hadn’t even ventured to the outer islands.
Which is why I am especially planning to go back after all these years. To dive deeper to explore a place and people that as been special to me for five years.
I can’t wait! 🙂

Hi Anthony,
I am planning to visit Tavalu with my daughter, then about 4 years old. Would you like to share your thoughts on that?
Looking forward to your next diary entry about Tuvalu!
Hi Sarah,
I want to assume infrastructure has improved greatly in Tuvalu since, including Medical . But id suggest keeping in mind it may still not be up to western standards and if the little one has any medical needs to be wary of any issues you may face. Otherwise, i think you both will enjoy your time 🙂
