Palau is one of the most beautiful and colorful places in the world with hues of the best blues throughout it’s Southern Lagoon. And that is not the exclude it’s reef around the main island chain. While many comes for Milky Way, Jellyfish Lake, and shark city within these islands, Palau is without a doubt notorious for the best diving in the world.
Check out this short edit posted on my Facebook Page:
Coming to Palau had had be fresh into the world of scuba diving having gotten my certification two years prior and diving my second set of dives only two weeks prior. This allowed me to open the door into a whole new world in my 40th country of my travels, the world below the surface of these pristine paradise waters. Check out my recent blog of the story behind Pristine Paradise.
Dives 8, 9, & 10 : Siaes Tunnel, Corner, & Ulong Channel
Celebrating my 34th birthday got me up early in the morning for the long journey into the Rock Islands Southern Lagoon, Palau’s very own UNESCO Heritage Site. Diving with Palau Dive Adventures took us over to Ulong channel along the western edges of the lagoon, here are some GoPro images of the dives:
Ulong Channel 50ft, 75min
Siase tunnel 90ft, 50min
Ulong Siaes corner, 70ft 56min
Dives #11 & #12: Blue Corner, Manta Cleaning Station & Big Drop Off
On a separate dive day, I initially just wanted to check out Jellyfish lake and Milky Way for the experience. However, due to low tourism numbers, no five tours were going out with groups under 4 people. The only option I had was a 6:30 am departure for a two tank dive plus Jellyfish lake, and Milky Way. This was going to be way beyond my Palau travel budget at $340. However, this is Palau & one does not simply turn down a dive opportunity in pristine paradise.
Manta Cleaning Station & Big Drop, 60ft 1 hour
Blue Corner, 90ft 1 hour
Diving takes explortion to a whole new level as you get to explore the world under the surface of the very ocean that takes up much of the planet. And it created a new angle of something to look forward to when traveling the world. Palau as I mentioned, is one of the greatest and most beautiful places in the world to go diving, if i must say so, is an ABSOLUTE MUST do on ANY trip to Palau.
On a personal note, I feel so blessed and grateful that I chose to ‘experiene up’ prior to being in these pristine paradise waters!
